The 2008 Portage Central
Varsity VS the Alumni
The first annual alumni
game held at the Portage Central Soccer Field was greeted
with great trepidation by both teams. Could the Varsity lose
to the more experienced alumni or would youth prevail? As
for the alumni, they knew that experience win every time but
“Will my legs hold out?” The first half was all experience
they had ball control and the wind in their sails.
The second half was a toss up, four subs (alumni) to the
Varsity ten was the only miss cue (and well maybe the
coaching). The Portage Central Mustangs Varsity after the
first half settled down and started to play as a great team
scoring 4 goals to the alumni 3 goals and held that pose to
the end.
